Solar Decisions

Well, Emma got another letter from the Peace Corps yesterday, and it mentioned solar chargers, so I spent hours reading specs and looking at websites, and found just what was needed. We are going with the Solio from England, very elegant, with the added benefit of an internal battery. I found a good AA/AAA charger that will charge from 12V, and a similar adaptor for her camera battery, both of which will charge from the Solio. I found a great site for all kinds of solar stuff: Sundance Solar, and they sent it the day I ordered online. I especially like the powerfilm foldable charger, it looks great.

Hello world!

My first post, nothing and everything on my mind. I will begin adding catagories soon: bikes, music, Bloomington and beyond. Toxics, here in Bloomington. In Bedford they are scraping the streambed of Bailey’s Branch and then vaulting the low-level contaminated soil/gravel in vaults on the GM site. copa.gifHere in Bloomington, the EPA and CBS are wrestling over who will pay to keep the PCBs out of Clear Creek, Stout’s Creek, and Richland Creek. This will may well be decided in the court, due to the Consent Decree the City signed. Much of the punch in Superfund is removed by the CD, it hobbles the EPA. I think this post will end up in the toxics catagory!
